1997 Cadillac Eldorado (I don't care what you think-- its mine & I love it!)

Yeah, I know its silly to love a car, but we can't seem to help ourselves anyway, can we? Its a relationship, & no relationship isn't without its fair share of give & take, but in the end, its the journey travelled that makes it all worthwhile. This car is more than just a car to me. Its a personal triumph. In the past, I could only ever afford little hoopdies to get around in, & after a bad round of credit, I couldn't look at getting financed for a looong time. But the day finally came when I could get approved again (albeit at a price!). It was the newest car I ever owned. (less than 5 y/o) It had the least mileage. (69k, as opposed to 100k) It was in the best condition I had ever owned. Its a vehicle for rebuilding my credit. oh, & one other thing... It rocks!!!

I don't care what anybody says about 'newer' Eldoradoes.. This car oozes class & style. I've always loved the luxury sport coupes, & this beauty became within my reach, so I went for it. Its the ETC model, so it comes with all the fandangoes. Most of these aren't such a big deal anymore, but it was the 1st time I ever had them, so I loved them. Memory seats, seat warmers, dual climate control, rear climate console, Bose stereo with 12 cd changer, moisture sensing windshield wipers, self-dimming rear view mirror, the list goes on! You name it, this car has it-- a gadget-head's dream!

Now, I'm not a gear head, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate power, & believe me, this car has it in spades! 300HP (again, ETC) sends this car flying onto the interstate with command & presence. This engine sings when you gun it.

This is just one snuggly-comfy car. I almost never have to take the climate control off 'auto', & just modify the temperature from the steering wheel. In the winter, just pop on the seat warmer, & you can just melt right into those soft leather seats. Maybe a little too comfortable!

This car hasn't been without its problems, so don't get me wrong. If you're considering buying one (or similar model), go for the highest level of extended warranty you can afford. TRUST ME. I got a 'step down' level, & a few repair jobs that didn't get covered have run me a couple thousand (cumulatively over a couple years). Some repairs will also never be covered by an extended warranty, so be prepared! Other than that, just a couple cosmetic glitches, but overall, I still love this car. Rock on!

What I (jokingly!) refer to as 'a great three-corpse trunk'-- this car carries a tremendous amount of cargo when it comes down to it.
